COMPUTER LAB INTERN
Post Level Intern • Fixed Term Contract Appointment • Commencing 1 January 2027
The Governing Body of Jupiter Street Primary School invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced educators for the position of Computer Lab Intern.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. A qualification or coursework in Information Technology / Computer Science is an advantage. Applicants who are currently studying part-time towards a teaching qualification will be given preference.
- ICT Skills: Sound computer literacy, with the ability to troubleshoot basic hardware issues (e.g. computers, printers, projectors) and software issues (installations, updates, connectivity and login problems).
- Experience: Previous experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, coaching or childcare) and/or experience within the ICT sector will count strongly in the applicant’s favour. No formal work experience is required.
- Personal Attributes: Trustworthy, dependable and reliable, with a genuine passion for education and an enthusiasm for solving new ICT challenges.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Computer Lab Preparation - Ensuring all computer lab devices are switched on, in working order, and loaded with the required software and applications ahead of every lesson.
In-Lesson Support - Assisting the class teacher during computer lab lessons, helping learners navigate programmes, and resolving minor technical issues as they arise.
Broader ICT Support - Providing basic first-line technical support across the school, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues on staff and classroom devices.
Equipment & Escalation - Keeping a basic log of ICT equipment and faults, assisting with the general upkeep of devices, and escalating unresolved issues to the relevant service provider or a member of the School Management Team.
