We are looking for a passionate, safety-minded Strength & Conditioning Floor Supervisor to join our High Performance Centre (HPC) on a part-time basis. Working alongside our Strength & Conditioning team, you will help ensure every student trains in a safe, well-supervised environment, using sound technique and best-practice standards.
You will provide additional gym floor supervision and safeguarding support, particularly when our S&C staff are busy with team training, fixtures and testing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising the gym floor during operating hours and enforcing safety guidelines, school policies and gym rules
- Coaching and guiding students on correct exercise technique, and monitoring safe equipment use
- Supporting daily S&C operations and leading team training sessions when S&C staff are unavailable
- Assisting with return-to-play protocols and rehabilitation programmes
- Assisting with, and where required, leading Physical Education classes from an S&C perspective
- Keeping the gym clean and organised, and inspecting equipment and reporting maintenance needs
- Responding to accidents or emergencies in line with school safety procedures
- Promoting a positive, respectful and inclusive training environment
Requirements
- Relevant Undergraduate degree or qualification in Sport science, Strength and Conditioning, Human Performance or a related field
- Postgraduate degree is advantageous
- A willingness to shadow, learn and understand the basic principles of athlete injury management and return-to-play protocols
- Valid First Aid Level 1 Certificate (or higher).
- SACE registration is advantageous, as well as a coaching qualification and experience
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding the welfare and wellbeing of children
- Proactive, punctual and reliable, able to work independently and use your own initiative
- Strong communication skills, tact and discretion, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, coaches and staff
