Rhenish Primary School seeks to appoint

FOUNDATION PHASE LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER

This role is dedicated to delivering targeted interventions, identifying learning barriers and fostering the foundational development of young learners in an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual or group Home Language and Mathematics support (Grades 1–3).
  • Apply expert knowledge of SIAS policy to guide early intervention and serve on the School-Based Support Team (SBST).
  • Contribute, monitor and update tailored Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Partner with teachers, parents and external specialists (OTs, Speech Therapists, Psychologists) to align therapeutic goals with academic support.
  • Monitor learner growth, hold regular parent meetings and compile formal progress reports every June and December.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in the practical application of SIAS policy and SBST structures.
  • Specialised proficiency in foundational literacy strategies, with expertise in dyslexia screening and implementing structured reading interventions.
  • Proven experience collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary support teams.
  • Academic Qualifications: B.Ed. Foundation Phase Teaching plus a Postgraduate Qualification in Learning Support or Inclusive Education (B.Ed. Honours preferred). Valid SACE registration.
