FOUNDATION PHASE DEPARTMENTAL HEAD (SGB Post)

Pinehurst Primary School (the ‘Green School’) is a leading co-educational public primary school situated in Pinelands (Cape Town). Due to the retirement of our present incumbent, we are looking to appoint a Foundation Phase class teacher, who will also be the Foundation Phase Departmental Head (SGB post) starting from January 2026. The Foundation Phase DH is a member of the school’s senior management team.

Requirements

• An appropriate Foundation Phase qualification
• SACE Registered
• A minimum of 5 years FP class teaching experience
• Passionate about education and knowledgeable of CAPS as well as current educational trends
• Proven administrative and organizational ability
• An excellent command of written and spoken English
• Strong leadership with the ability to manage and inspire a team of professional and competent teachers within a department (state leadership experience and roles / positions)
• Adaptable and compassionate, with good inter-personal skills
• The ability to deal with discipline constructively
