English Teacher (College)
Uplands is a forward-thinking, innovative co-educational independent school located on a 110-hectare Estate in White River, Mpumalanga, that is committed to providing quality education to day- and boarding scholars from Grade 0000 to 12.
Uplands School is a member of the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) and the Anglican Board of Education of South Africa (ABESA) and offers examinations set by the Independent Examination Board (IEB).
Uplands College seeks to appoint an English Teacher, whose strengths will lie in effective verbal and written communication.
Commencement date: 01 January 2027
The successful applicant will:
• Possess a suitable professional qualification and be SACE registered.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of IEB teaching experience that includes Matric English teaching.
• Have a good knowledge of teaching English language and literature.
• Experience as an IEB Matric marker will be an advantage.
• Be innovative, embrace technology, and display a creative teaching style, across different pupil abilities.
• Promote the critical reading and thinking skills of pupils
• Have a high EQ and be genuinely passionate to make a difference in pupils’ lives.
• Be prepared to work as part of a team and assist with general duties as and when required.
• Have sound administrative ability and be able to meet deadlines.
• Participate in the daily co-curricular programme.
• Have a proven record of commitment and professionalism towards education.
• Must be a South African citizen.
• Have a clear Criminal Clearance Certificate.
