COMPUTER APPLICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (CAT) TEACHER

Tafelberg School, a public special needs school in Bothasig, Cape Town, is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Computer Applications Technology (CAT) educator to join our team.

Minimum Requirements and Key Criteria

• A recognised Degree and a 4-year professional Teaching Qualification or PGCE
• SACE registered
• Experience teaching CAT Grades 10–12, with the ability to teach Technology Grades 7–9
• Excellent computer skills and confidence in integrating technology into the classroom
• Experience teaching learners with specific learning barriers and challenging behaviour
• Excellent knowledge of the CAPS curriculum
• Proven track record of effective curriculum delivery
• Experience in identifying and addressing weak areas in the subject
• Knowledge and application of the SIAS process, including completion of relevant documentation and ISPs
• Strong communication skills, including effective parent liaison
• Willingness to participate fully in the academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular life of the school
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Solid attendance record and professional work ethic
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage classroom discipline effectively
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary support team
• Willingness and ability to work beyond school hours when required
• A valid PDP will be advantageous
