DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL (PART TIME)
The Director of Basketball will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the basketball programme, driving its growth, sustainability, and alignment with the school’s values and strategic objectives. The role will foster a high-performance culture that promotes excellence, participation, player and coach development, and sportsmanship. The Director will lead coaching standards, athlete development, community engagement, and stakeholder relationships while ensuring the programme, staff, and facilities reflect the highest standards of quality and performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead & Manage Staff: Recruit, train, and inspire coaches and support teams to deliver outstanding training, competitions, and events.
- Programme Development: Design and oversee training pathways from beginner to elite, ensuring alignment with national sporting standards.
- Oversee the High-Performance Programme for elite teams and athletes.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute fixtures, tournaments, and outreach events, ensuring smooth logistics and high-quality experiences.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a strong safety culture, ensure all legal and safeguarding requirements are met, and conduct regular audits and drills.
- Facility Oversight: Collaborate with operations teams to maintain top-class equipment and event readiness.
- Budget & Finance: Manage programme budgets, monitor revenue streams, and explore sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
- Parent & Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents, resolve queries promptly, and encourage feedback to continually improve the programme.
- School & Club Liaison: Build partnerships with schools, clubs, and governing bodies to grow the sport and increase participation.
- Manage all tour logistics, including transport, accommodation, and travel arrangements
- Coordinate all weekly fixtures, tournaments, festivals, and sporting events.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Proven leadership in a sports or Basketball environment (minimum 2–3 years in a management role).
- In-depth knowledge of basketball training, coaching methodology, and competition structures.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage athletes, staff, parents, and stakeholders.
- Sound financial management skills and strategic thinking ability.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- Police Clearance.
- First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Safeguarding Certification.
