Woodwind & Foundation Phase Music Educator
The Wynberg Boys’ Junior School SGB are seeking a passionate, dynamic and dedicated Woodwind & Foundation Phase Music Educator to join our vibrant and growing Music Department. The successful candidate will become fully integrated into the life of the school, actively contributing to the wider school community and participating in co-curricular and campus activities. This exciting position combines
classroom music teaching, instrumental tuition and ensemble direction, providing an opportunity to inspire young musicians and contribute meaningfully to a thriving music programme.
Start Date: Tuesday, 1 September 2026
Requirements:
- Appropriate Music Education qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in teaching woodwind instruments (saxophone/flute).
- Experience teaching Foundation Phase learners.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate young musicians.
- Experience directing bands and ensembles will be advantageous.
- Piano playing, teaching, and accompaniment skills will be advantageous.
- PGCE, SACE Registration, Valid Police Clearance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Foundation Phase class music (Grades 1–3), knowledge of the CAPS curriculum, instrumental woodwind tuition (saxophone/flute), knowledge of Trinity College of Music curriculum and examinations, and conducting and leading school ensembles/choirs.
