FULL TIME MUSIC TEACHER

Rustenburg Girls’ Junior School seeks to appoint a dedicated and inspiring full-time Music Teacher to join its vibrant Music Department in January 2027.

A dynamic teacher who is passionate about inspiring and nurturing young musicians. Be able to collaborate effectively in a team and take initiative. Be flexible within the greater school environment and contribute to the cultural life of the school. Aligns with the school’s transformation objectives and a culturally diverse girls’ school ethos.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide high-quality individual instrumental lessons
• Teach class music, where required
• Prepare learners for internal and external music examinations (ABRSM, Trinity, UNISA, Rockschool, etc.)
• Support and contribute to ensembles, choirs and school productions
• Participate actively in the school’s extensive extracurricular programme

Requirements:

• A recognised Music degree with specialisation in one or more instruments (Please name all instruments that you can teach up to a Grade 5 level)
• PGCE (or equivalent teaching qualification)
• SACE registration, proof of application in progress, or eligibility for registration
• CAPS trained
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Computer-literate with knowledge and experience in using current technology in teaching and administration, especially Google Workspace for Education applications
• Music software proficiency will be advantageous
