Description

Independent Hockey & Netball Coaches

At St Cyprian’s School, sport is about far more than the scoreboard. It is an opportunity for students to discover what they are capable of, experience the joy of being part of a team, develop resilience and confidence, and learn how to compete with courage, generosity and good spirit.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed independent Hockey and Netball Coaches to join our Sports programme for the 2027 season, working with teams across our Prep and High Schools.

Whether you are an experienced coach or a current hockey or netball player looking to grow your coaching experience, we would love to hear from people who bring energy, sound sporting knowledge and a genuine enjoyment of working with young people.

The Role

Depending on the team and sporting code, our coaches will be responsible for:

  • Coaching Prep School and/or High School hockey or netball teams
  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate coaching sessions
  • Developing students’ technical skills, tactical awareness and understanding of the game
  • Creating an environment in which students can learn, stretch themselves and enjoy their sport
  • Preparing and supporting teams for fixtures, tournaments and tours
  • Attending and coaching at matches, including weekend fixtures where required
  • Working collaboratively with the wider St Cyprian’s Sports team
  • Modelling excellent sportsmanship, professionalism and respect both on and off the field or court

We Would Love to Hear From You If You...

  • Have relevant hockey or netball coaching qualifications and/or playing experience
  • Are a current or former hockey or netball player with an interest in coaching
  • Enjoy working with young people and understand that good coaching is as much about the person as it is about performance
  • Are reliable, organised and able to communicate clearly
  • Bring enthusiasm, positive energy and a team-oriented approach
  • Are available for the relevant morning and/or afternoon training sessions
  • Are able to attend matches, tours and tournaments, including weekend commitments where required
  • Understand the importance of appropriate professional boundaries and safeguarding when working with young people

Previous school coaching experience would be advantageous, but we are equally interested in individuals with strong sporting experience, the right attitude and the potential to develop as coaches.

If you believe sport can build not only better players, but stronger, more confident young people, we would be delighted to hear from you.

St Cyprian’s School is on a journey of Transformation and the successful incumbent will be expected to contribute positively to the outcome of this journey.
