Calling Academy Paarl is entering an exciting new chapter! Established in 2025 with two Grade 8 classes, our young, dual-medium, co-educational high school has grown steadily and will welcome two more Grade 8 classes in 2027. As our first cohort is nearing the FET phase, we are looking for passionate educators who want to be part of shaping the future of this impactful school.

An exciting teaching opportunity is available in 2027, allowing a dynamic teacher the opportunity to propel learners from low-income communities towards their callings. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
MATHEMATICS / WISKUNDE AND PHYSICAL SCIENCE/FISIESE WETENSKAP

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics/Wiskunde to Grade 10, in parallel medium (Eng/Afr), as well as Mathematics/Wiskunde to Grade 9 in separate English and Afrikaans classes. Physical Science/Fisiese Wetenskap to Grade 10, in parallel medium, will also be part of the teaching responsibility.

As Calling Academy Paarl continues to grow, teaching responsibilities will increasingly align with each educator’s area of specialisation, creating opportunities for professional growth and greater subject focus.
Responsibilities of the position will be finalised with the successful candidate, but will include:
● Teaching Mathematics/Wiskunde to Grade 9 and Grade 10
● Teaching Physical Science/Fisiese Wetenskap to Grade 10
● There is a possibility of a position on the School Management Team should a suitable candidate be identified.
● Other reasonable teaching responsibilities may arise
● Reasonable extramural responsibilities form part of the school timetable

The successful candidate should:
● Be qualified to teach Mathematics in the FET and Senior Phase.
● Experience in teaching these subjects will be a favourable consideration.
● Be comfortable teaching these subjects in English and Afrikaans.
● Be committed and innovative while maintaining a high level of professional excellence.
● Be energetic and excited to build into learners’ lives academically and non-academically
● Be SACE-registered (Proof required)
● Have a passion for teaching as a redemptive industry in the South African context.
● Have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
● Be excited about the school’s vision and supportive of its Christian mission.

REMUNERATION
Calling Education has its own competitive salary scale. The salary for this position will, in part, depend on the credentials of the successful candidate and will be discussed before appointment
