Parktown High School for Girls, Parkview, Johannesburg

Parktown High School for Girls is seeking a passionate, energetic sports enthusiast to assist in teaching Physical Education and assist in managing the schools sports programme. The position forms part of the school’s Sports Department and will report to the Director of Sport.

We are looking for the following criteria:

1. Have a good understanding of high school sport, and sport coaching programmes.
2. Have good knowledge of how to manage and coach high school teams.
3. Have confidence in managing coaches and asses their coaching ability.
4. Have umpiring / refereeing experience.
5. Be willing to get involved in multiple sporting codes and assist where needed.
6. Must be able to swim confidently and be willing to teach learners the basics of swimming during physical education classes. A practical swimming test will be conducted for all short-listed applicants. This is non-negotiable.
7. Have an experienced skill-set which enables you to develop student’s love for sport.
8. Have a high EQ which will assist you in encouraging learners to reach their potential. Be a positive role model to young women and encourage confidence in our leaners.
9. Strong organisational and administrative skills as well as good computer literacy.  
10. Have a growth mindset and the ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions on matters pertaining to school sport.
11. Demonstrate integrity, commitment and confidentiality in all aspects of how you handle situations.
12. Be flexible with working hours and be willing to work over weekends when needed for sporting events and sports fundraisers.
