LSEN TEACHER
Commencing 1 January 2027

Kraaifontein High School is a dual-medium school offering instruction in both English and Afrikaans. Applicants must indicate the language(s) in which they are able to teach.

The Governing Body of Kraaifontein High School invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced educators for the following fixed term contract Post Level 1 positions:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A recognised four-year (REQV 14) educator qualification; further specialisation in Inclusive Education, Special Needs Education, Learning Support or Remedial Education is strongly preferred.
• Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE), or proof of application for registration.
• Working knowledge of the Screening, Identification, Assessment and Support (SIAS) policy and Education White Paper 6 on Inclusive Education.
• Demonstrated experience identifying and supporting learners who experience barriers to learning.
• Patience, empathy and strong skills in differentiation and individual support planning.

KEY DUTIES

• Lead and facilitate the process of the identification of learners who are experiencing barriers to learning across all grades.
• Liaise with the School Counsellor in applying for assessment concessions where applicable.
• Provide individual and small-group learning support to learners experiencing barriers to learning, Grades 8–12.
• Develop and implement Individual Support / Learner Profile plans in line with SIAS.
• Collaborate with subject teachers, the School Based Support Team (SBST) and parents.
• Monitor, record and report on learner progress, adjusting support strategies as needed.
• Liaise with external specialists (e.g. therapists, psychologists) where required.
