Clifton Nottingham Road invites applications from student teachers to join our Champion Internship Programme.

Clifton Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational school offering classes from Grade 000 to Grade 7, with the option of weekly and termly boarding in the Senior Primary. Founded in 1942, the school is set on a picturesque 64-hectare estate in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

Clifton Nottingham Road seeks student teachers eager to learn to teach while they study. Interns live on campus, work alongside experienced mentors, and immerse themselves fully in the life of the school. Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Education, or an equivalent accredited qualification such as a PGCE, aimed at the Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, or Expressive Arts. Preference will be given to students in their third or fourth year of study.
• SACE registration as a student teacher, or an application for registration in progress.
• A clear police clearance certificate.
• Warm, engaging, resilient, honest, genuine, empathetic, and kind.
• Passionate about working with children and making a difference in their lives.
• Energetic, keen on the outdoors, and able to show initiative.
• Eager to learn and to develop your talents.
• Creative and innovative, with strong values that align with our Christian ethos.
• Experience in, or the ability to, coach sport.
• Willing to relocate to Nottingham Road and live on our campus full time.

Your commitment

• A one-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance.
• Full-time residence in the boarding house on campus.
• Registering for your studies during your year with us and performing well academically.
• Full immersion in the life of the school, including co-curricular activities, boarding duties, transport duties, coaching sport, outreach, and clubs.
• Learning to teach while you study, showing self-discipline and enthusiasm throughout.
• Enthusiasm for integrating technology into the curriculum, using a range of digital media in the classroom.
