Foundation Phase Middle Room Teaching Positions (x2)

Uplands is a forward-thinking, innovative co-educational independent school located on a 110-hectare Estate in White River, Mpumalanga, that is committed to providing quality education to day- and boarding scholars from Grade 0000 to 12.

Uplands School is a member of the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) and the Anglican Board of Education of South Africa (ABESA) and offers examinations set by the Independent Examination Board (IEB).

Uplands Preparatory seeks to appoint two dedicated Foundation Phase teachers for half-day positions specialising in English and Mathematics. These are our Middle Room teaching posts, focused on providing individualised academic support to pupils who need additional assistance with their learning. The successful candidates will use differentiated teaching and remedial approaches to strengthen pupils’ skills and confidence within a nurturing, patient and encouraging learning environment.

The successful applicant will:

• Hold a suitable professional teaching qualification and be registered with SACE
• Have a minimum of four years’ teaching experience (IEB experience would be an advantage)
• Have remedial teaching experience or experience supporting pupils with diverse learning needs, which will be advantageous
• Demonstrate an understanding of differentiated teaching methods and individualised learner support in English and Mathematics
• Use an innovative, patient and creative teaching approach to build pupils’ confidence and academic skills
• Be passionate about making a difference in pupils’ lives
• Possess strong administrative skills, be fully computer literate and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be willing to embrace developments in education, teaching and learning
• Have a proven record of commitment and professionalism in education
• Have remedial training, which will be beneficial

Working Hours: 07h15 – 10h30
