Kraaifontein High School is a dual-medium school offering instruction in both English and Afrikaans. Applicants must indicate the language(s) in which they are able to teach.
The Governing Body of Kraaifontein High School invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced educators for the following permanent Post Level 1 teaching positions. For both posts, applicants must indicate any other subjects they are able to offer.
ENGLISH HL & FAL
Grades 8–12
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Qualifications: A recognised four-year (REQV 14) qualification which includes appropriate professional educator training in the relevant learning area/subject.
- Registration: Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE), or proof of application for registration.
- Subject Knowledge: Sound content knowledge of the relevant subject(s) and the current curriculum (CAPS), with the ability to plan, deliver and assess lessons across Grades 8–12.
- Other Attributes: Good classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to participate in extracurricular and co-curricular school activities.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Learning: Preparing and presenting lessons in line with the curriculum and the workload of the post; assessing, recording and reporting on learner performance.
Subject Offering: Applicants must clearly indicate, in their application, any additional subjects (besides the advertised post) that they are able and willing to teach.
Administration: Maintaining accurate learner records, participating in departmental and school meetings, and contributing to the management of discipline within the classroom.
Extra- & Co-curricular: Participating in the school’s extracurricular programme, including sport, culture or other enrichment activities, as required.
