MUSIC & DRAMA TEACHER

Athlone Primary School invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and dynamic educators for the position of Music & Drama Teacher.

We seek a committed, professional and engaging educator who will contribute meaningfully to cultural excellence, learner development, and the broader life of the school community.

Minimum Requirements

• A recognised degree in Music or equivalent teaching qualification
• Current SACE registration (Compulsory)
• Experience in and ability to teach Music, Drama and Performing Arts
• Ability to play the piano
• Ability to produce annual school productions
• Ability to assist learners with the annual Speech & Drama festival (SADASA)
• Willingness and ability to contribute to the school’s extramural programme, particularly Boys’ and Girls’ sporting codes
• Valid Driver’s Licence

Key Competencies & Expectations

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Teaching Music & Drama lessons to Grade R–7 learners
• Ability to lead the school choir with piano accompaniment
• Planning and coordinating school productions
• Professional communication skills when engaging with parents, colleagues and School Management
• Willingness to participate in school committees, events and whole-school initiatives
