- Teach Natural Sciences in Grades 8-9, as required, helping to build curiosity, confidence and a strong departmental pipeline.
- Plan and facilitate safe, purposeful laboratory practicals, School-Based Assessment tasks and alternative scientific assessments.
- Use assessment evidence to differentiate learning - extending high-performing students while providing responsive support and tutorials where needed.
- Integrate educational technology meaningfully to deepen inquiry, collaboration, feedback and scientific understanding.
- Contribute actively to curriculum development, departmental collaboration and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
- Serve as a register or tutor teacher and contribute to the pastoral care of pupils.
- Participate fully in the school’s co-curricular programme through sport, cultural activities, clubs, societies or environmental initiatives.

- A relevant Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in Biological Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry or an equivalent field.
- A recognised professional teaching qualification: PGCE or BEd specialising in the FET Phase.
- Current SACE registration, or eligibility for registration.
- At least six years’ successful experience teaching Life Sciences, with substantial experience in Grades 10–12.
- A demonstrable record of preparing Grade 12 students successfully, supported by pass rates, quality results and distinction outcomes.
- Strong working knowledge of the IEB curriculum and Subject Assessment Guidelines.
- Experience designing and managing practical investigations, SBA tasks and varied forms of scientific assessment.
- The ability to teach mixed-ability classes with both high expectations and humane, responsive support.
- Confidence in the purposeful use of educational technology.
