SCHOOL GOVERNING BODY VACANCY – AFTERCARE LEARNER ASSISTANT

Edgemead Primary School invites applications by suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Aftercare Learner Assistant starting on 01 September 2026. We have one position available in the Intersen Phase. The successful candidates would be required to utilize their skills to further enhance the safe, happy environment for Aftercare learners.

Applicants must submit the following in one PDF attachment in the order stipulated below:
1. Letter of motivation.
2. Updated CV including details of two contactable references.
3. One or two recent written references.
4. Certified copy of ID.
5. SAPS Name Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months).
6. NRSO Certificate (National Registry for Sexual Offenders). Both SAPS and NRSO clearance certificates are available via Nevetec. Contact be-sure@nevetec.co.za
7. Additional supporting documentation for recommended criteria as listed below.

The following criteria will be favourably considered and evidence thereof must be included in the above information pack:
1. National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
2. Teaching qualification, teaching experience or teaching assistant experience.
3. Previous experience working with children.
4. Excellent communication skills in English.
5. Good organizational and time management skills.
6. Strong professional values and work ethic.
7. Growth mindset.
