St Cyprian’s School for Girls in Cape Town is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Violin/Viola Teacher from July 2024 on an independent contract.
The incumbent should be a violin/viola teaching specialist with a track record of successful teaching from beginners to advanced level, as well as teaching and/or conducting ensembles.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Specialist violin / viola teaching from beginner to advanced level.
    Preparing students for subject/external examinations where applicable.
    Preparing students for Eisteddfods and concerts throughout the year.
  • Administrative tasks e.g. the creating of a timetable, record keeping and report writing.
  • May involve running or assisting with String Ensembles, conducting, selecting repertoire and preparing for performances.
  • May involve taking Orchestra sectionals.

Key requirements for the role:

  • A recognised music degree
  • Knowledge and experience in Paul Rolland inspired pedagogy would be an advantage
