YOUTH EMPLOYMENT SERVICES (Y.E.S) INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
15 May – 30 September 2025
West Riding is looking to fill an internship position, as a Teaching Assistant. The date of contract will be from 15 May 2025 until 30 September 2025.
The internship programme is applicable to candidates who meet the following requirements:
- South African citizen
- Aged between 18−35 years’ old
- Currently unemployed
- No prior participation in a Y.E.S program
- Reside within a reasonable distance from the school
The following positions can be applied for:
TEACHING ASSISTANT – consisting of, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Assisting the class teacher with the day−to−day running of the class
- Printing, copying, laminating
- Organizing and sorting classroom materials
- Assisting with school events where applicable
Candidate must be willing to attend training sessions and assist at school functions when required. Applicants will need to supply the following documentation:
- CV
- Certified copy of ID document
- Police Clearance certificate (or evidence of application thereof)
- Vetting against Sexual Offence Register Certificate / Application to do so
- SARS Tax registration form (where applicable)
Applicants must submit a detailed, up−to−date 3−page CV with explanation of their training, experience, competencies, previous employment records as well as the names and telephone numbers of 2 recent referees.
No formal qualification is required but the candidate must have basic numeracy and literacy ability and must be able to effectively communicate in English.
The appointment will be subject to a security clearance as well as personnel suitability checks that include qualifications (where applicable), previous employment, criminal records, credit verification and reference checking.
