Position: Junior Intermediate Phase Teacher – isiXhosa First Additional Language
Location: Apex Stellenbosch, Koelenhof Road (R304), Stellenbosch
Type: Full-Time | On-site | Starting January 2026

This role has a strong focus on supporting learners who are developing isiXhosa FAL literacy, vocabulary, comprehension, and confident oral expression.

Key Responsibilities
 Teach isiXhosa First Additional Language in the Intermediate Phase (Grade 4–6).
 Provide small-group and remedial language support to strengthen reading, phonics, writing, and oral fluency.
 Plan and deliver lessons aligned to the CAPS curriculum.
 Use learner data to reteach, scaffold and adapt instruction to ensure mastery.
 Build a warm, structured classroom environment.
 Communicate with colleagues and families to support learner progress.
 Participate in professional development and collaborative planning within the phase team.

Education and Experience
 BEd
 SACE registered (or evidence of registration in progress).
 Experience in teaching isiXhosa FAL or literacy
 Confidence in using technology to support learning is a plus.

Skills & Attributes
 Fluent spoken and written isiXhosa (required).
 Strong command of English for communication and collaboration.
 Patient, encouraging, and committed to learner growth.
 Organised, reflective, and willing to learn within a coaching-based school culture.
 Belief in high expectations and the potential of every learner.
