St Benedict’s is an Independent Catholic School which seeks to provide a holistic education for boys through full participation in spiritual, academic, sporting, creative and cultural activities. The Board of Governors invites applications for the position of Head of the Preparatory School.
Reporting to: Executive Headmaster
Requirements and Experience:
- Possess a teaching qualification and SACE registered
- Have at least 10 years’ experience in a similar position or Deputy Head position
- Have leadership and management experience within a primary school setting
- Vision and ability to lead a diverse staff in a way that is consistent with the overall mission, vision and core values of the School
- Ability to interact appropriately with all stakeholders in the St Benedict’s Community: Members of the Board of Governors, Executive Committee, Leadership Teams, Staff, Parents and Boys
- Sound knowledge of current teaching and learning trends and international developments in education
- Attract, mentor, develop and inspire academic, cultural and sporting staff to perform at exceptional levels
- Experience in sound school governance and financial management
- Excellent decision-making skills which includes the ability to plan, prioritise, delegate, monitor and evaluate
- Have a willingness, commitment and ability to embrace and promote the Catholic Ethos of the school
- Supportive of the school’s commitment to transformation, diversity and inclusion programmes
- Ability to build and sustain cohesive and integrated teams
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Strategic and detail-orientated
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Demonstrate high level of effective leadership skills
