General Maintenance Worker
with effect from 1 February 2025, or as soon thereafter as possible
Are you hands-on, with a knack for repairs and facilities upkeep? We’re looking for you! We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Worker to join our team and ensure our facilities remain in top condition.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in general maintenance or a related field.
- Experience working in a school environment will be an added advantage.
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
- Valid driver’s licence is preferred.
- Recent Police clearance check.
Core Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance: Perform routine repairs, including fixing faucets, replacing light bulbs, patching walls, and painting.
- Carpentry: Repair or install cabinets, shelves, and door frames.
- Plumbing: Address minor plumbing issues such as unclogging drains and repairing leaks.
- Electrical Work: Basic repairs to outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
- Safety Inspections: Regularly check for potential hazards and report necessary maintenance.
- Experience with painting or tiling.
Key Skills Required:
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and climbing.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to thorough and accurate work.
- Communication: Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
