Vacancy Announcement: General Cleaner / Grounds Worker

Sunlands Primary invites motivated and skilled individuals to apply for a Governing Body vacancy in our estate support team. We are currently seeking:

General Grounds Worker – to perform outdoor maintenance and support tasks, to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the school premises

Key Responsibilities Outdoor Duties

• Sweeping and cleaning the exterior areas of the school.
• Trimming trees, maintaining gardens, and cutting grass on sports fields and school grounds.
• Assisting with general maintenance, including minor repairs to doors, toilets, windows, unblocking pipes, and cleaning gutters.
• Painting as required.
• Reporting hazards or defects to the supervisor.
• Cleaning and maintaining the swimming pool.
• Assisting with learner arrivals and dismissals.
• Cleaning exterior windows when needed.

Indoor Cleaning Duties (as required, particularly during staff shortages)

• Vacuuming, washing, mopping, and buffing floors.
• Emptying and cleaning bins.
• Spot cleaning spillages.
• Cleaning classrooms, offices, desks, chairs, skirting boards, and other surfaces.
• Ensuring bathrooms are hygienically cleaned and properly stocked.
• Cleaning doors, windows, and light switches.

• Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Honest and of sober habits.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
