MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES (German preference) - TERM 1, 2026
Helderberg International School invites applications from qualified candidates for the above position commencing Term 1 of 2026. As an independent co-educational institution following the International Cambridge Curriculum, our school prides itself on fostering a nurturing environment for students from Nursery to Year 13.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualities and qualifications:
- Commitment to the ethos and values of the school and IES.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Adherence to confidentiality and safeguarding policies.
- Experience and strong knowledge of teaching Modern Foreign Languages in line with the Cambridge Curriculum will be an advantage.
- Preference will be given to German-speaking MFL teachers
- A dynamic and motivated educator with a clear personal philosophy of education
- Able to establish a good working relationship/ rapport with parents to communicate effectively with them regarding their child's progress.
- Dedication to enhancing students' competence, performance, and enthusiasm for learning.
- Maintain high standards of classroom practice and establish a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters learning.
- Maintain High standards of classroom practice and availability to work beyond contractual hours to support school functions and events as needed.
- Proficiency in the English Language and computer skills
- Willingness and ability to participate in coaching or leading extra-curricular sports or clubs
Minimum Requirements:
- Appropriate academic and professional qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution
- Current or pending registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
