We are currently seeking a qualified Pre-Primary Teacher to join our team and contribute to the growth and development of our students. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and support the development of each child’s social, emotional, and cognitive skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure the well-being and growth of each child

Key requirements for the role:

  • Inquiry-Based Teaching: Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding and implementation \ of inquiry-based teaching methods to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and problem- solving skills in young children.
  • Energetic passion: Ability to infuse the learning environment with energy and enthusiasm, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for young children.
  • High level of computer literacy: Ability to utilize technology to enhance the learning experience and demonstrate proficiency in using educational software and tools.
  • 21st Century teaching skills: Ability to stay abreast of modern teaching methodologies and incorporate 21st-century skills such as collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking into lesson plans.
  • Team player: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents, contributing to a positive and supportive school community.
  • Piano skills (desirable, but not essential): While not a requirement, candidates with the ability to play the piano may bring an additional dimension to the learning experience.
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with both students and parents.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience: Have at least three years of experience in a similar position, demonstrating a proven track record of effective teaching and classroom organisation.
  • ECD/Foundation Phase Qualification: Hold a four-year diploma/degree in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and/ or Foundation Phase Education.

Candidates should have the following skills and attributes:

  • Consider themselves adaptable, open to change, and illustrate creativity in their approach.
  • Extremely methodical with excellent communication skills
  • Show exceptional organizational skills and initiative
  • Detail-orientated
  • High levels of emotional intelligence and self-awareness: ability to understand and respond to children’s needs and emotions intuitively
  • Take pride in a high standard of teaching
