The International School of Cape Town (ISCT) is one of the largest Cambridge schools in the country, offering the British curriculum from Nursery to Year 9 and Cambridge from Year 10 to Year 13, since 1998. High School English Teacher from January 2025

We are currently seeking the services of a high school English teacher who has a passion for children and their learning and development. Applicants should have experience in teaching High School aged children and should indicate their ability and experience in the following:

Applicants should meet the following requirements. 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree qualification or equivalent in Senior and Intermediate Phase
  • At least five years’ experience in teaching English in a High School environment
  • Ability to deliver the UK or Cambridge curriculum at the required level
  • Knowledge and experience of the UK curriculum and Assessment Practices will be a requirement / advantage - especially a Key Stage 3 English specialist (Year 7 - 9)
  • The ability to integrate technology into lessons, particularly iPads, would be an advantage
  • Capacity to deliver 21st Century teaching skills
  • Flexibility in working as part of a dynamic team

In addition, having experience in teaching an Extra Mural would be of benefit.

7. A copy of your permanent SACE certificate and number, in the case of Educator applications. 

8. In the case of non-South Africans, provision of a valid work visa enabling the prospective employee to be employed at ISCT

9. Full disclosure of any material reason that may impact ISCT’s decision when making an appointment.

  • No appointment will be considered or finalised until the above have been met by the prospective employee.
