Sweet Valley Primary School is a community school committed to providing a caring and inclusive learning environment that gives all its children the opportunity to develop relevant academic, emotional, social, and physical skills that will equip them for success.

The School Governing Body seeks to nominate to the WCED a dynamic and forward-thinking deputy principal who embraces the vision and values of our high-functioning and dynamic state school.

The minimum requirements as determined by the WCED for a deputy principal position must be met, and the following additional criteria based on the needs of the school are required for consideration:

● Relevant academic qualifications and experience as well as a commitment to fostering academic excellence.
● Proven leadership ability with excellent communication, management, administration, and interpersonal skills.

The following experience, skills, and qualities will be to a candidate’s advantage:

● Previous experience in a medium to large primary school in a leadership role that involved managing people and resources.
● A sound knowledge of the management of school resources, including the grounds and buildings of the school.
● Experience in managing disciplinary matters with children, and the upholding of the school’s Discipline Policy with a progressive and restorative approach to discipline.
● Knowledge of and evidence of innovative approaches to teaching.
● A commitment to active participation in the school’s extra-mural programme.
● A proven track record of professional development.

Applicants must be positive, self-motivated, hard-working, reliable, and demonstrate a keen interest in progressive co-ed primary education.
