HOSTEL BOARDER MISTRESS POSITION

Hostel Boarder Mistress position

Erinville Hostel, the Rustenburg Girls’ High School’s Boarding establishment, is looking for a Boarder Mistress from January 2026.  The position is a fixed-term, one year, contract that will be renewed annually subject to a good performance review.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

• A single female (no partners or pets can be accommodated)
• A non-smoker of sober habits
• Computer literate with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, Email, Internet)
• A strong team player
• Passionate working with teenage girls
• Ability to demonstrate initiatives
• Attention to detail, with initiative and a proactive approach
• Report writing skills
• Flexibility to work outside working hours
• Physically fit and energetic

Working hours:

• Evening duty from 17:30 to 22:30, two evenings a week
• Standby duty every second Friday from 18:00 to 23:00, when required
• Sunday duty every second Sunday from 16:00 to 22:00

Occasional work may be required on Saturdays and during the school holidays, but this would be by negotiation and could be remunerated separately.

Preference will be given to candidates who:

• Are Qualified educators with SACE registration
• Have experience in working with teenagers
• Have at least Level 1 First Aid

Remuneration will be in the form of:

• A monthly stipend
• Accommodation in the form of a single room flat with private en-suite bathroom within the boarding house 
• Three meals a day Monday-Thursday, breakfast and lunch on Friday, during school terms 
• Free Wi-Fi.
