Jeppe High School for Boys is excited to be part of developing and supporting the development of educators within our country. Over and above welcoming students from Universities to complete their practical requirements, we are proud to have our own multi-year internship programme.

For 2025 we are looking to fill the following intern roles:

Mathematics (2 posts), Information Technology, Life/Physical Science, General Teaching

Who can apply?

Please note that being registered for a degree in education is a prerequisite for this role and if a candidate is unable to register for either a B.Ed or PGCE they will not be able to join the program in 2025.

An application will not in itself entitle the applicant to an interview or appointment and failure to meet the minimum requirements of the advertised post will result in applicants automatically disqualifying themselves from consideration. The School reserves the right not to proceed with filling this post.

Structure of the Programme

  • Interns are required to observe or, under supervision, lead two classes per day.
  • Interns are allocated at least two lessons per day to focus on their studies.
  • Interns are expected to join the Jeppe staff and play an all-round role within the school.
  • Interns are expected, at all times, to remain up-to-date with their academic course work. Failure to do so could result in their removal from the programme.
  • Interns will be allocated various other duties during the course of their day/week including substitution, invigilation, administrative support etc.

Jeppe High School for Boys interns will be required to attend meetings and/or workshops throughout the year, facilitated by the school, focusing on professional development and career guidance. These sessions will be communicated well in advance and should be expected to take place fortnightly.

Co-curricular Involvement

All interns are expected to play a full role within the co-curricular programme, participation in all House-related extramural events and assist at all school-based events: Open Day, Sports Festivals and school tours.
