MIDDLE / HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS – CAMBRIDGE CURRICULUM

Position title: Middle/High school teachers, Cambridge curriculum, multiple positions available
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract
Location: Diep River, Cape Town
Hours: Full time (7h15-17h00) or part time (2-8hrs/day, 4-5 days a week)

Evolve Academy is a secondary, independent, co-ed day school situated in Diep River in the Western Cape. Our students benefit from the Cambridge curriculum, which includes Lower Secondary, IGCSE and AS level. With a focus on individual attention, we pride ourselves on a small classroom environment (max 10 students per class). We strongly believe in the holistic development of the child where curiosity, environmental sustainability and critical thinking are woven into all subject areas.

Requirements:

• BEd, BSc and PGCE or equivalent qualifications.
• Subject specialism in one or more of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English, Afrikaans, Geography, History.
• Ability to teach multiple subjects is advantageous.
• Particular emphasis on delivering practical lessons.
• A minimum of five years teaching and assessment experience at FET level, IGCSE/AS and A-level experience advantageous.
• An innovative, creative, child-centred and passionate approach to teaching and the broader life of the school.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• SACE registered.
• A police clearance certificate of no more than six months old.
• For Science, Biology and Maths: Particular emphasis on delivering practical lessons whilst engaging with the scientific method. Experience managing a laboratory which includes regular stock take and replenishment of materials and chemicals.
