Micklefield school invites suitable candidates to apply for the position of Afrikaans First Additional Language Teacher. 
Commencement Date: 01 January 2025 

We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative person with the relevant qualifications, experience and academic vision. 

Post Requirements: 

  • A dynamic, enthusiastic, innovative individual with strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills. 
  • A teaching qualification relevant to the post.    
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience teaching Afrikaans FAL to primary school children. 
  • An excellent command of both English and Afrikaans.    
  • Instilling a love for the language in the pupils.    
  • Good report-writing skills.    
  • Promoting and developing the relevant curriculum per the school's standards, aims, and policies.    
  • The ability and willingness to integrate technology into teaching and be adept at presenting an integrated, rich teaching curriculum.    
  • Prioritising individual pupil attainment and achievement and closely monitoring and supporting pupil progress.    
  • Supporting and upholding the ethos of the school as contained in the Mission Statement.   
  • Working as part of a team with other staff to create an environment of personal excellence for all pupils.    
  • Fully supporting the academic, sports, cultural and extra-mural programmes at Micklefield.   
  • A current police clearance certificate.    
  • A registered SACE member.
