FRONT OFFICE SECRETARY
Starting Date: 1 January 2026

Edgemead High School is seeking a friendly, professional, and efficient Front Office Secretary to join our administrative team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and learners, and will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our school office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the school’s reception area and warmly welcome visitors.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls and emails promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with general administrative duties including typing, filing, and data capturing.
  • Support staff with day-to-day office requirements and communication.
  • Maintain a professional and organised front office environment.
  • Handle learner and parent queries with discretion and care.

Requirements:

  • A Matric certificate (a post-school qualification in administration will be advantageous).
  • Proven experience in a similar administrative or secretarial role.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanour.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with school administration systems will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Prior experience in an educational environment will be advantageous.

Required Clearances:

  • Name clearance certificate or proof of application
  • Sexual offender clearance certificate or willingness to apply
