Hermanus Primary School
Overview
Hermanus Primary School is possibly the oldest school in Hermanus, starting as St. Peter’s Church in 1868. The original stone building was built in 1907, and the school was officially declared a primary school from 1918, and additionally became a secondary school from 1921. The primary and secondary schools separated in 1952, and the senior school built behind Hoy’s Koppie came into use as the new high school from 1977.
Hermanus Primary School has a rich history, being an integral part of the community for many years. The school has wonderful facilities, including sports fields, a pavilion, a cloakroom, a gymnasium, tennis courts and a tuckshop.
